The area holds places you won't find elsewhere — Cheneil, at 2,105 metres, is one of the few Aosta Valley hamlets you can't reach by car, only on foot or by a small six-seater cable car, among larches and broadleaf trees; and the Gouffre des Busserailles, a gorge branching for 104 metres, with a sheer wall plunging 35 metres, its waterfall and giant's kettles.
